Tamaqua police are investigating a number of hit and runs that occurred between 7 and 9 p.m. Friday. The alleged vehicle is described as an older model Mercedes-Benz with possible New Jersey license plates. Police added that witnesses described the culprit as a young male with curly hair. The witnesses added that the culprit was driving around Tamaqua with no lights on. If anyone has any information concerning this incident, call police at (570) 668-5000.
