Lawyers in the case of the York man accused of killing Kyle Hagenbuch of Carbon County have a status conference Tuesday.
A 9:30 a.m. hearing is scheduled in the front of York County Common Pleas Judge Harry Ness for Dasean Damont Morris. Morris is charged with first- and third-degree murder in Hagenbuch’s death July 31 in York City.
Hagenbuch was shot outside in the area of 900 E. Clarke Ave. He died Aug. 2 at WellSpan York Hospital. His death was ruled a homicide.
The district attorney’s office is not seeking the death penalty. Morris also faces charges of carrying a firearm without a license and marijuana possession. An omnibus pretrial hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in front of Ness. Sandra Thompson, his attorney, said previously the case was listed for trial. A date is not yet set.
Morris remains in York County Prison.
