Rachel Lauren Keich, daughter of John and Jeanine Keich of Hometown, graduated summa cum laude from Lehigh Carbon Community College on May 18. The 2015 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, where she was valedictorian, earned a 4.0 grade-point average on her way to an associate of arts degree in Business Administration.

While at LCCC, Keich served as president of the LCCC Entrepreneurship Club and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Kappa Beta Delta International Honor Society for associate degree accredited business programs. She was chosen as the 2017 Student of the Year by the LCCC Faculty Association.The granddaughter of Vincent and Beverly Vilcheck of Summit Hill and the late Paul and Ethel Keich of Tamaqua plans to continue her education at Kutztown University, where she plans to double major in accounting and finance.
