The new stage at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center will soon be "one of the best venues in Schuylkill County," according to Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Linda Yulanavage.

During a meeting Thursday morning, Yulanavage promoted the chamber's Feb. 28 evening mixer, which will be hosted by the TCAC. The event will showcase the new stage. The mixer begins at 5:30 pm with a concert beginning at 7:30.Yulanavage also asked members to consider making nominations for the Mauch Chunk Trust bank Community Heroes Program. Nominees should be people from Tamaqua or Carbon County who are recognized for volunteer work. Nomination materials are available at bank offices and must be complete by March 31.Members received copies of the Schuylkill County Visitor's Guide, which they will distribute from their businesses.
