Palmerton library events

It may be cold outside, but come into the warmth at the Palmerton Area Library and take part in the various activities offered for the young and old.

The Friends of the Library Association is once again sponsoring the Annual Art Show and Lunch from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 22. Tickets cost $7 each.To enter art work, call the library at 610-826-3424.The activities for children are free unless otherwise noted. These include:• Preschool Story Hour - at 10:30 a.m. every Friday during the school year.• Homework Helpers for Grades 1-8 - 3:15 to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Registration required.• Teen Advisory Group for teens in grades 5-12. Meets the first and third Thursdays. For more information, call Christine at the library.• Rachel's Music Together - 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays. Music and movement classes for children from birth to age 5. Call 570-778-6128 to register.• Jam-nastics - Fitness, gymnastics and dance. Monday mornings. New members welcome.• Blue Mountain Fiber Guild - 7 p.m., first Tuesday. Exploring spinning, weaving, etc.• Our Family History - 6 to 7:30 p.m., second Tuesday. Learn how to do genealogy research.
