Police: Slatington woman pushed EMT into wall

A Slatington woman is behind bars for pushing an emergency technician into the wall on Christmas Day.

Kimberly Kirkpatrick, 44, of the 300 block of First Street, has been charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as one count each of simple assault and aggravated assault.She was arraigned by District Judge Michael D’Amore and sent to Lehigh County Jail under $25,000 bail.According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by borough police officer Stephen Kiefer:Kirkpatrick’s son contacted the 911 Center and said his mom had taken too much of her medication again.Kiefer arrived on scene and equested EMS to respond.He then spoke with the son, who said his mom had a marijuana pipe in a box next to her bed.Kiefer saw a grinder with marijuana residue next to her bed, and a box a multicolor pipe with marijuana residue inside.As Kiefer attempted to find Kirkpatrick’s purse, she pushed an EMT from Northern Valley EMS into the wall, injurying EMT’s right knee and right wrist.
