Route 209 is now open following a crash on the wash shanty hill in Nesquehoning early this morning.

The single-vehicle crash into a utility pole happened just after 7 a.m. along Route 209 on the wash shanty hill. Scanner reports said wires were down as a result of the crash.Police shut down the road in both direction between Panther Valley High School and Nesquehoning until PPL and emergency crews could clear the scene.The scene was cleared just after 8 a.m., scanner reports state.No additional details have been released at this time.
