Woman assaults officer following dispute with neighbors
A Lansford woman has been charged with assaulting an officer after being involved in a dispute with her neighbors.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Matthew Houser of the Lansford Borough Police Department in the case against Deanna Augelli:
Houser was dispatched to a home on East Kline Avenue for a neighbor working on a car in the alley and making a lot of noise.
The caller was Augelli, 42, who was highly intoxicated when Houser arrived and found her on the front yelling and cursing at her two neighbors.
Houser requested officer Kyle Sabulsky from the Nesquehoning Borough Police Department to assist him.
The female neighbor told Sabulsky that Augelli said, “I am going to (expletive) you up,” while the male neighbor said Augelli threatened him as well.
Houser told Augelli to go inside and stop cursing at the neighbors, but she continued to yell and carry on.
Augelli was given reasonable warning and requests to desist, but ignored these warnings.
Augelli was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct, and other charges were approved by District Attorney Michael Greek.
While attempting to place Augelli into the back of the police unit to be transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Augelli turned and kicked Sabulsky in the genital area.
Augelli was then pulled out of the unit and placed on the ground in order to regain control of her.
Houser spoke with Greek, and he approved adding additional charges of aggravated assault and simple assault.
Augelli faces charges of disorderly conduct; harassment; public drunkenness; simple assault; and aggravated assault.
She is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000, 10% monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Dec. 23 before District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek of Lansford.
