State police report on Monroe crashes

State police at Stroudsburg reported investigating two crashes on Monroe County roadways.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 2:11 p.m. on Nov. 22 along Barren Road in Middle Smithfield Township. Troopers said Edward A. Lance, 32, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2017 Acura southbound while Thomas C. Anthony, 89, of East Stroudsburg, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze northbound. Troopers said Lance failed to negotiate a right hand curve and traveled into the northbound lane and collided into Antony’s vehicle.

Both drivers sustained suspected minor injuries and were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital- Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg. Both vehicles were towed.

Lance was cited for driving with a suspended license.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 12:17 p.m. on Nov. 24 along Interstate 380 in Tobyhanna Township. Troopers said Christopher English, 52, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 northbound on the Exit 3 off ramp while Eric R. Hummel, 37, of Astoria, New York, was driving a 2013 Mini Cooper westbound on Route 940 entering the ramp. English came to the intersection and applied his brakes to stop before entering the intersection, but lost the ability to brake and entered the intersection and collided into the Mini Cooper.

No one was injured.

• State police at Lehighton reported investigating a rear-end crash at 7:29 p.m. Nov. 28 along Route 115 in Ross Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Morgan E. Smith, 20, of Kunkletown, operating a 2016 Nissan Sentra, was stopped in the southbound lane attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot of a local business when her vehicle was struck by a 2011 Hyundai Sonata driven by Tamir J. Smith, 41, of Albrightsville. No one was injured. Both vehicles were towed.

Tamir Smith was cited for following too closely.
