The Coaldale Volunteer Fire Company is reaching out to residents of the community to help bolster its fire service.

The company is seeking new members, pointing out that while there are a small number of fire company members, the future safety of residents and their properties is dependent upon new members joining the company.Seeking to bolster their roster, company officials have announced recruitment sessions have been planned for the next three Sundays, Oct. 16, 23 and 30, from 9 a.m. to noon at the fire company on East High Street.Regular membership in the company is open to individuals 18 and older. The company is also seeking junior members between the ages of 14-18.Anyone interested in joining the company is invited to stop by the fire company headquarters, where the firefighters will be available to provide information on the company and to discuss volunteerism in the fire service.Those unable to attend any of the recruitment sessions can call the fire company at 570-645-3796 and leave a message for a member of the company to make a return call.
