Eldred Township supervisors will be making appointments to various township commissions and committees at their organizational meeting in January.Vacancies may exist on the Zoning Hearing Board, Planning Commission, Community Center Committee, and Parks and Recreation Committee.Township residents interested in serving on one of these areas should submit a letter of interest by Monday. The letter should state area of interest, the reasons for interest and any relevant qualifications. This community service program will positively impact the community by providing holiday cheer and gift giving to seniors who are least likely to receive a present during the holiday season, who are lonely and financially needy.People can select a tag from the tree in the library which lists a gift preference written on it and can then go shopping for that gift and return the gift (wrapped or unwrapped) with the tag attached to it to Western Pocono Community Library no later than Dec. 13.Home Instead Senior Care will then deliver the gifts to the seniors.
