Police report on Schuylkill County crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating the following crashes:

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 6:06 p.m. on Oct. 31 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Andrew J. Laverty, 43, of Schuylkill Haven, was southbound on 61 driving a 2002 GMC Sierra at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a 2001 Chevrolet S10 truck driven by Rick W. Kaufman, 68, of Fleetwood, Berks County. The Sierra pushed the S10 into the parking lot of Aim Integrated Logistics, hitting two parked trailers.

No one was injured.

• A crash occurred on Oct. 31 at 10:21 p.m. along Route 183 in Cressona borough. Troopers said Aric Bilansky, 35, of Pottsville, was driving a 2014 Hyundai Elantra southbound when his vehicle struck a deer that had entered the road in front of him. Bilansky was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed.

• Joshua A. Inama, 21, of Mary D, was cited after a crash at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 15 on State Route 1010 in Mahanoy Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said he was driving a 2011 Nissan Titan southbound and was negotiating a right curve in the roadway when it struck the rear of a 1999 Toyota Camry that was parked along the right berm of the road after it became disabled on the prior evening.

Inama was not injured.

The Camry was towed from the scene, police said.

• State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 9:37 a.m. on Saturday along Route 443 in East Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Donna E. Maurer, 73, of New Ringgold, was driving 2018 Ford Ecosport westbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. The vehicle struck the deer. Maurer was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.
