Every day, I have the great opportunity to work with very passionate, hardworking and driven professionals and business owners.

Our businesses, professionals and volunteers are the heartbeat of this great county, and it is our privilege to take a night and celebrate local success stories.The Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corporation is seeking nominations for the 2014 CCEDC Annual Dinner Awards.The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at Blue Mountain Ski Resort.The evening's focus will be on the great things happening in Carbon County as we highlight and celebrate Carbon businesses, initiatives and individuals.Do you know a special business or individual that falls under one of the following categories in Carbon County?Small Business of the Year: Recognizes a business that has demonstrated achievement and innovation in management, workplace excellence and has committed to growing here in Carbon County. The business should have 1-20 employees.Large Business of the Year: Recognizes a business demonstrating support for economic development financial, board participation, lobbying, etc. Shows support for the communities in Carbon County active and engaged in community issues. Has had significant expansion or investment during the year. Should have 20-plus employees.Tourism and Entertainment Business of the Year: Honors a business that attracts guests and visitors to provide amusement, recreation, hospitality and culture. These businesses include restaurants, theaters, bed and breakfasts, wineries, driving ranges and ecotourism.Volunteer of the Year: Outstanding individual dedicated to supporting CCEDC and other community organizations.Young Professional of the Year Award: Highlights a Carbon County young professional who is highly involved in CCEDC events and community programs.Economic Development Project: Outstanding economic development project designed to bring jobs and economic growth to the county.William H. Bayer Lifetime Achievement Award: This award is in honor of the late William H. Bayer for his dedication to the community.To acknowledge his commitment to the community, the CCEDC presents this award each year to a CCEDC member who has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to our community.Deadline to submit nominations is Oct. 17.For more information about the event or to nominate a business or individual, contact
