Eugene "Geno" Roberts will be honored at a memorial service held Saturday in the Palmerton Area High School auditorium.

Roberts, an icon in the Palmerton community, passed away Wednesday at the age of 63.Over 38 years, Roberts coached baseball, football and girls' basketball, and had a five-year stint as a Booster Club coach.He also ran a summer basketball camp in town and volunteered his time for many building projects for the benefit of kids.Saturday's ceremony is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Organizers are asking attendees to consider bringing an item (baked good, beverage, etc.) for a refreshment time immediately following the ceremony.All refreshments can be dropped off beginning at 9 a.m. at the high school on the day of the memorial.
