Pedestrian struck in Tamaqua this morning

A 53-year-old man received head and leg injuries after being struck by a car in Tamaqua this morning.

Initial reports from the scene at Broad and Greenwood streets indicate a male driver was traveling south on Greenwood Street, with a green light, when he turned left onto Broad Street.The pedestrian had just started crossing Broad, going south to north, when he was struck.Tamaqua Patrolman Rick Bekesy is the investigating officer. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Miner’s campus in Coaldale in the Tamaqua Area Community Ambulance.
