Several injured in Parryville crash

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 6:13 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Route 248 and Centre Street, in Parryville.

Troopers said Thomas R. Rabbe, 59, of Horsham, Montgomery County, driving a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, entered 248 after having stopped for a stop sign on Centre Street.

He attempted to cross all four lanes of 248 while Michael A. Redmond, 47, of Lehighton, driving a 2011 Volvo XC90, was eastbound.

The Sante Fe struck the Volvo, causing it to roll over leaving the roadway and coming to rest on its roof facing southeast.

Raabe and his three passengers were not injured.

Passengers with Redmond were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Lehighton. They were Krista L. Redmond, 44; two boys, ages 9 and 1, and a girl, 6. The juveniles were in child safety seats.

A PennDOT sign was damaged. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Rabbe was cited for stop sign violation.
