Blue Ridge Rifles Muzzleloader Club, located along Coon Club Road off Route 183, south of Summit Station, a self-supporting organization founded in 1976 and a member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and the Pennsylvania Federation of Black Powder Shooters, is holding the Eastern Pennsylvania Rendezvous and Muzzleloader Shoot, Thursday-Monday, May 22-26. There is pre-1840 primitive and modern camping on the 22-acre site with firewood and water provided, but no hook-ups.

Competitive shooting events for traditional muzzleloader rifles, smoothbores and pistols are Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for men, women and juniors. Other activities include informal shooting Thursday and Friday, a Saturday night bonfire and trade sessions, knife and hawk matches, a primitive archery woods walk and games for children and adults.Most matches are five shots at 25 yards, including the women's match sponsored by Bass Pro Shops Harrisburg store. Cabela's Hamburg store is sponsoring the primitive match that features novelty targets from 15 to 100 yards, and new this year is the Yuengling 50-yard Challenge.Through grants from the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association and the Schuylkill County Sportsmen's Association there is no entry or target fees for the juniors match for those 16 and younger. Coaches and rifles are available if needed.Also new this year is the "greenhorn" match for those who have never won a prize at a Blue Ridge event.
