State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 4:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, along Darkwater Road in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Christian K. Schminkey, 19, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne, southbound and failed to negotiate a right curve near the intersection with SR9104. The vehicle left the road on the right side, traveled about 150 feet, before coming to rest after striking several small trees.Schminkey sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. Troopers said he was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
