LCCC offers workforce, leadership training programs

Lehigh Carbon Community College will offer an employer information session beginning at 8:30 a.m. July 21 at the Carbon County CareerLink located at 69 Broadway in Jim Thorpe.

The information session will focus on a variety of educational programs, as well as a new noncredit seminar in workplace safety developed for business and industry.LCCC has been providing leadership and job training programs for many years in Carbon County and is a source used by business and industry for workplace training. The programs are available to employers to equip front-line employees, supervisors and managers with effective workplace skills to strengthen their organization.The courses can be customized for any business.Some programs include communication and leadership skills training: customer service, team building, and conflict management; computer software training: email management, social media marketing, and desktop publishing; technical and safety training: OSHA certification, forklift certification; public safety training: workplace safety seminar, traffic safety for security personnel. There are many other programs under the respective fields.At the mobile training site located on the LCCC Tamaqua campus, the college offers several programs in advanced manufacturing.These programs include production technician, industrial automation and programmable logic controllers.For more information, contact Maureen Donovan, assistant director of workforce and community services, at 570-225-7021 or
