A Carbon County woman entered guilty pleas on Monday to two retail theft counts before Judge Steven R. Serfass.
Jennifer Elizabeth Mead, 29, of Lehighton, pleaded to a retail theft at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township that occurred on April 29, 2016. She had placed several items in the lower part of a shopping cart. She exited the store, paying for some items in the top part of the cart but failed to pay for the items on the bottom.The second incident occurred at the Country Junction Store in Towamensing Township on Nov. 13, 2016. She told Serfass she had recently lost her job and took the items for her family so they would have something for Christmas.Serfass placed her on probation for a total of 36 months and ordered her to make total restitution of $264.35 and render a total of 150 hours of community service.
