A Lehighton man admitted in Carbon County court on Monday to having indecent contact with a teenage girl.

Donald H. Ellis Jr., 50, pleaded guilty before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to one count each of corruption of a minor, a felony three, and indecent assault, a misdemeanor two.Ellis was charged by Lehighton police for an incident on July 10 at a home along Mahoning Street. The then 13-year-old girl and her mother reported the incident to police.She said she was taken by Ellis to a home in the borough where he made inappropriate contact with her in a sexual manner. The girl also said he put a “hickey” on her buttock. He also exposed himself to the girl.Ellis admitted to the facts as recited by Assistant District Attorney Seth Miller when questioned by Nanovic.Although sentencing had to be deferred because the charges fall under the provisions of Megan’s Law, the victim and her mother read statements into the record.The girl told the court the incident changed her life, that she is fearful of men and has nightmares about what happened. It has affected her school work and forced her into receiving counseling. She said she depends on her mother to get through the depression she is going through.Nanovic had the girl and the mother give the written statements to the court so he could review them at the time of sentencing.Nanovic ordered Ellis to be evaluated by the state sexual assessment board to determine if he is a sexually violent predator under Megan’s Law. If it is determined he is, then he will have to register for life as a sexual offender. If not, then the registration period is 25 years. Nanovic also ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
