The Carbon County Planning Commission gave the green light to two proposed projects in the county.
During the monthly meeting of the commission on Tuesday, the board voted to give conditional plan approval to James and Tiffani Christman, owners of Eckhart Views Estates, 2321 Cherry Hill Road in Parryville. The proposed subdivision calls for subdividing an undisclosed sized lot into four lots.Ivan O. Meixell Jr., county planner, said that before the project could come before the board as a final plan, some changes need to be made, including showing the total acreage of the land to be subdivided; obtaining a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Highway Occupancy permit for the four lots; and completing a soil and erosion and control plan. The board also voted to give plan approval to Carl and Dolores Oswald for their proposed subdivision at 87 Aspen Drive, Penn Forest Township.Their plan calls for combining two lots to create a 1.01-acre lot.Meixell also outlined two proposed amendments that Packer Township is planning to make on ordinances. Those include tightening up the current subdivision approval process and changing outdoor fire burner/accessory use provisions/zoning hearing board hearings procedural requirements. No action was needed on the proposed amendments.
