Slatington drivers in Lehigh crash

Two drivers from Slatington were involved in a crash at 11:14 a.m. on Sept. 3 at Old Post Road and Neffs Laurys Road, in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Bethlehem said Cheyenne D. Remes, 20, of Slatington, was driving a 1998 Saturn wagon westbound on Neffs Laurys Road and approaching a stop sign at Old Post Road.

Ann J. Hartman, 76, of Slatington, was northbound on Old Post Road driving a 2006 Saturn VUE. At the intersection Remes failed to stop for the stop sign and pulled out in front of Hartman and a collision occurred.

Remes’ vehicle overturned and rolled multiple times before coming to final rest on the shoulder of the road. Remes, who had to be extricated from her vehicle, suffered a minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Hartman and her passenger, Robert H. Hartman, 75, same address, were not injured. Both vehicles were towed.
