A Bethlehem man pleaded guilty in two pending criminal cases on Tuesday in Carbon County court, both stemming from domestic assault incidents.

Sean Francis Leindecker, 30, pleaded to one count each of recklessly endangering another person and simple assault before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.State police at Lehighton responded to the area of Forest Inn Road at Stony Ridge Drive in Lower Towamensing Township on April 21 for a domestic assault incident inside a vehicle. On scene, troopers learned that Leindecker had gotten into an argument witha woman, during which he pushed her out of a moving vehicle. She got back into the vehicle and returned with him to her residencein Lower Towamensing Township. She sustained cuts and abrasions, troopers said.On April 26 troopers went to the residence for another domestic assault. In this incident the two were involved in a dispute, and while Leindecker was leaving and backing out of the driveway, his vehicle struck and knockedthe woman to the ground. The police report said the car then passed overthe woman.Leindecker claimed he didn't know the vehicle had passed overthe woman, who was not seriously injured in the incident. He said if he had, he would have immediately stopped and rendered aid.Leindecker read a statement stating he was "truly sorry to the victim for what I did." He said although their relationship is over, he "wished her well."Nanovic told Leindecker he was fortunate thatthe victim was not seriously injured.On the reckless count Nanovic sentenced him to serve one to 12 months in prison and on the assault count two to 12 months, less a day, with the terms running consecutively. He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and have no contact with the victim.Leindecker, who has been in prison since the second incident, was given credit for 87 days already served on the charges. He has two days to serve.
