An Albrightsville man was sentenced to a county prison term on Monday on theft and driving under the influence charges.

Kenneth Michael Greenfield Jr., 45, of Albrightsville, was sentenced by Senior Judge Leonard N. Zito, of Northampton County and specially presiding, to serve eight to 16 months on the theft count and 48 hours to six months on the DUI charge, with the terms running concurrently.Greenfield previously pleaded to the charges. The jail term will be followed by 24 months of probation.He was arrested on the theft count for an incident on March 20, 2014, with a Jim Thorpe woman as the victim and jewelry taken.The DUI occurred on July 1, 2014, along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.13 BAC.Defense Attorney Matthew J. Mottola, of the public defender's office, said Greenfield has a history of drug abuse.He said he spent 24 days in an inpatient program and then attended the Salvation Army inpatient program but did not successfully complete it.On the theft count he was ordered to make restitution of $3,700 to the victim. On the DUI charge he was fined $500 and his license was suspended for a year.He was also ordered to pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and probation.He was given credit for 24 days spent in jail on the charges.He will begin the jail term on April 17 and was granted work release privileges.
