Horse-drawn trolley rides and other activities will celebrate the arrival of fall at the 32nd Annual Tamaqua Heritage Festival, set for Sunday in downtown Tamaqua.

The event, scheduled to take place rain or shine, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., also will feature the unveiling of a new display and new location for a popular attraction — the Tamaqua Anthracite Model Railroad Club, which moved into the upper level of the former Masonic Temple building, 139 W. Broad St. The club’s large train platform previously was located in the building’s basement level.The club will host an open house, beginning at 9 a.m., during the festival to introduce the new look and new location.According to organizers, the day will include a large craft and vendor fair, ethnic and festival-favorite food vendors, local organization fundraiser booths, strolling historical re-enactors, tours of the new Tamaqua Area Historical Museum, Tamaqua Street Machine Association antique and classic car show, train station open house, Hegarty Blacksmith Shop tours, blacksmithing demonstrations by Don Campbell, and Leiby’s Autumn Harvest Market.The event also will include a live broadcast of the WMGH Polka Program with Polka Joe Manjack, DJ Shawn spinning classic coal heritage music and contemporary tunes, folk musician Dave Matsinko, 19th century funeral customs exhibit, military re-enactors, magic shows, home baked goods and more.More information: 610-597-6722 or email
