Schuylkill County personnel moves

Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday hired a Soil Conservation Program Coordinator.

Tyler Heffner, Pottsville, will earn $29,944 a year.The position had been vacant since Jenna Fehr was promoted to director in April.In other personnel moves, the salary board eliminated the position of interim public works director, a job held by Public Works Director William Liptok, who retired on May 31. He was paid $52,963.The county hired Paul Fetterolf, Butler Township, as interim director of public works for $48,000.Commissioners on June 1 hired Liptok as a public works director on a per diem basis at $29.10 an hour. The job was to end July 31."Bill did an outstanding job," said Commissioners' Chairman George F. Halcovage Jr.Also on Wednesday, Clerk of Courts Maria T. Casey received approval to hire a temporary employee for two months at $18.15 an hour under a contract that the Human Resources office has with the People Share temp agency.The temporary employee is needed to replace a staff member who is out on an extended leave.
