Loan default

Accesslex Institute, dba Access Group, 10 N. High St., West Chester, filed a civil action against David M. Rakos, 372 N. Second St., Lehighton, alleging he defaulted on a student loan. Sought is $11,528.61 plus interest, costs and fees.

Home dispute

Amy Patterson, 787 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, filed a civil action against Masterbuilt Properties & Services LLC, 5061 Wendi Drive W., Zionsville.

The suit states the plaintiff entered into a written contract by which the defendant was to perform certain renovations and remodeling on the plaintiffs’ house at 787 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. The suit alleges the defendant failed to perform key elements of the contract, which are detailed in the suit. The suit also alleges the defendant allowed construction debris to enter into the drain pipes in the basement, causing a backup of water and flooding in the basement.

The two-count seeks damages of $17,875 plus interest, costs and fees.
