Carbon County court — ARD

Seven defendants in pending criminal cases were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday.

Judges Steven R. Serfass and Joseph J. Matika placed the defendants.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Placed by Judge Matika were:

Lucena Fabon Jones,

54, of Mountain Top, for a year on a charge of neglect of care-dependent person. She was charged by Weatherly police for an incident at Weatherwood care home. She was accused of having various medications mixed into the food of a resident of the home. No injuries were reported. At the time she was employed at the home.

She was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.

Sandrrcey Bella Scinicariello,

68, of Massachusetts, formerly of Summit Hill, was placed for a year on a charge of theft. She was charged by Lansford police for an incident on July 26, 2018, involving the theft of a storage shed of a borough resident.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 25 hours of community service and make restitution to the victim of $500.

Lisa Marie Beers,

49, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony. She was charged as part of a county drug task force operation along Route 443 in Lehighton following a traffic stop.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use and render 100 hours of community service.

Lonnie Lee Behler Jr.,

22, of Kunkletown, was placed for two years on a charge of simple assault. He was charged by Lehighton police for an incident on April 5 at the Gypsy Hill Garden Apartments, with a female victim.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to make restitution of $40 to the victim, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol and render 100 hours of community service.

Shana Cecilia Collier,

35, of Lehighton, was placed for a year on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on May 13 by Lehighton police following a domestic incident along South Second Street.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.

Jason Lee Ellis,

38, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was placed for two years on a charge of possession of an prohibitive offensive weapon, a Taser. He was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident on Dec. 24, 2019, at the residence of his brother in Patten Circle, Penn Forest Township. He was accused of assaulting his brother using a Taser.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution of $2,271.56 to the victim.

Marlene La Viola,

69, of Summit Hill, was placed for a year on a charge of theft. She was charged by Summit Hill police for taking cartons of cigarettes belonging to a borough resident when he misplaced them.

She was assessed $450.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
