A Schuylkill County man was arrested for having a knife at a county high school. Mahanoy City police said the incident occurred on Aug. 29 at the Mahanoy Area High School complex.
A borough officer, identified as Robert Romanick, was conducting traffic control at the school when he observed a man exiting the administration office wearing a large knife attached to his side.Romanick confronted the man, identified as Quincey E. Foose, 33, of Barnesville.Foose told the officer he had been in the principal's office concerning his child. Romanick took possession of the 15-inch knife and placed Foose in his patrol vehicle. He then spoke with school officials.Romanick said at no time did Foose remove the knife from its holder and no one was ever in danger.Foose was charged with possession of a weapon on school property, a misdemanor one, and a summary offense of disorderly conduct.
