Sports Zoo cited for two violations

A Lansford bar that allegedly failed to clean its tap system twice in November and December has been cited by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

The Sports Zoo, 390 W. Snyder Ave., was issued the citation on Jan. 6 of this year and will have to answer to an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50-1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought and can mandate training for the licensee in an effort to educate them on the requirements of being a licensee.State police said the Sports Zoo failed to clean its malt or brewed beverage dispensing system at least once every seven days in violation of Section 5.51-c of the LCB regulations. The violations took place during the periods of Nov. 17-26 and Dec. 4-7, police said.
