There are those who work to live, and then there are those who have a true passion for what they do.

Jamie Greenzweig fits into the latter category, which customers of Greenzweig Insurance Agency in Tamaqua would surely attest to.Greenzweig, who grew up in Hometown and attended St. Jerome's and Marian Catholic, opened her business in February at 1130 E. Broad St., the site of the former Tamaqua Appliance building.She started as a licensed insurance producer in 2002, working first for an independent agent until 2004, then working for a captive agent from 2004 until 2015, when she decided to team up with Farmers."I actually really love insurance," Greenzweig said. "It's a necessity that people need, and I enjoy figuring out what best meets the customers' needs and enjoy the challenge."Greenzweig said she chose to open her agency in Tamaqua because "I believe it is a great area, and wanted to help the people in the community I live in."The biggest thing when I was looking was I wanted to open an agency where my kids go to school," she said. "Growing up here, it's a great community, and I just wanted to serve the area that I grew up in."Greenzweig said the goal is to get the name out there so the community knows they're open, and to help promote that, a grand opening and ribbon cutting were held earlier this month at the business."Things are going very well," she said. "The biggest challenge is getting the word out that we're open."Along with Greenzweig, the business has two Agency Producers, Stephanie Dreher, from Nesquehoning, and Bill Thompson, from Tamaqua.Greenzweig said she is the only Farmers agent in Schuylkill County."We have very competitive rates," she said. "We offer numerous types of insurance to fit your personal and business needs, such as auto, home, recreational and life, as well as property and liability and more.Through Farmers Insurance, from now through Nov. 30, Greenzweig said the business is accepting suits for our heroes returning from the military.Over 1 million military personnel will be making the transition to the civilian workforce in the next couple of years, and those who wish to aid them in their transition may donate a gently worn business suit (male or female).Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday."I'm always open," she said.
