Coaldale Police reported that Anne "Demie" Demyanovich, 85, of Second Street, Coaldale, passed away Friday at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem from medical complications.

Demyanovich was being treated at the hospital for injuries she sustained from a vehicle collision with a PennDOT contracted street sweeper on Thursday, April 4, along US209 in the Seek section of Coaldale.Witnesses in nearby yards and a vehicle following behind said Demyanovich, driving a 1997 Acura, drove through a cloud of thick white dust before impacting the rear of the street sweeper, which was parked on the right side of the road, near the West Miners Street intersection.Demyanovich was transported via ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill while the driver of the street cleaner, Susan Pireda, sought treatment later in the day.Demyanovich's obituary appeared in Saturday's TIMES NEWS.
