Lansford police arrested Joseph Becker Jr. at 12:50 p.m. Sunday.

Police were an area known as a high drug use and sales area. Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle and found that the front passenger, Joseph Becker Jr., 18, was in possession of packaging material, a scale and pills, meth and heroin, all packaged separately. He also had a 10-inch knife.Becker struggled with officers and briefly escaped.He was charged with possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, escape, possession of controlled substance(s), possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and possession of an offensive weapon.He was arraigned and jailed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility under $10,000 straight cash bail.
