5K Run to benefit environmental center

The Carbon County Environmental Education Center will hold its fifth annual 5K fundraising run onJune 18, beginning at 8 a.m.

The Rattlesnake Run is an out-and-back, 3.1-mile race held at Lehigh Gorge State Park. Participants have the chance to win awards, receive free T-shirts, and enjoy organic baked goods courtesy of 14 Acre Farm.A 1-mile fun walk will also be held beginning at 9 a.m. All ages are welcome. Strollers and well-mannered, leashed dogs are permitted at the fun walk. All dogs must be leashed while in the park.Registration is required for either event. Both begin and end at the Glen Onoko access area to the park in Jim Thorpe. More information is available at
