Police: Man fired shots at 3 people

A Summit Hill man has been charged after he fired a gun at three people in the woods.

According to police, at 4:34 p.m. on Nov. 5, a woman came to the borough police station to report that she and two friends were shot at by a hunter while in a wooded area within the Summit Hill borough limits.The victim reported that the man, later identified as Frank Nelson Miller, 40, of East Holland Street, shot in the group's direction over their heads and was cursing at them.The victims were visibly shaken, police said.Officers then issued a warrant for Miller's arrest.Miller was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford on Saturday.He faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault, and three counts each of recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, terroristic threats and simple assault.Bail was set at $100,000, which he was unable to post. He was then remanded to Carbon County Correctional Facility.A preliminary hearing has been set for 1:45 p.m. Dec. 14 in front of Kosciolek.
