The 65th anniversary reunion of the Tamaqua High School Class of 1949 was held on Sept. 26 at the Mahoning Valley Country Club in Lehighton. There were 46 people attending, including 35 class members.

James Ziogas of Elizabethtown served as toastmaster. The invocation was given by Mary Brennan Schock.Monica Tuite Heisler and Kitty Coleman Andregic led the group in paying tribute to 92 deceased classmates. Thirty have died since the last reunion.A special tribute was given to late classmate Tony Moff by Lois Roeder Reeser. Moff had been chairman of the reunion committee and had served as toastmaster for 45 years until his death.The class roll call was conducted by Anne Cooper Cope, and recognition was given to the following class members who have attended every class reunion: Kenneth P. Feil, Wilmington, Delaware; Lois Roeder Reeser, Lancaster; and Anne Cooper Cope, Ruby Houser Knott, Lowell Koch and "Pete" Pruett, all of Tamaqua.A closing prayer was given by Janis Jones Wenzel and the benediction by James Ziogas.The class voted to have a picnic next summer.The committee in charge of arrangements included Mary Brennan Schock, Robert Boettger, Kitty Coleman Andregic, Anne Cooper Cope, Florina Falasca Marlin, June Fethers Camerini, Ruby Houser Knott, Janis Jones Wenzel, Lois Roeder Reeser, Monica Tuite Heisler and James Ziogas.
