A total of four defendants entered guilty pleas to driving under the influence and related charges of Monday in Carbon County court.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas from the following:Bambi Ravanna Kearns, 34, of Newfoundland, Wayne County, was arrested on June 27, 2016, along Wilbur Street by Weatherly police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. She also pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.Sentencing was deferred so Kearns can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Samantha Lynn Wagenhurst, 33, of Tamaqua, was arrested on March 18, 2016, in the 500 block of East Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. She also pleaded to possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. She is currently an inmate in the Northampton County prison on a parole violation charge.Sentencing was deferred so she can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Nieko Eric Evans, 27, of Lansford, pleaded in two pending cases. He pleaded to driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance for an incident on Nov. 9, 2015, in the area of 321 W. Ridge St., filed by Lansford police. Heroin is the drug involved. He also pleaded to one count of harassment for an incident on Jan. 9, 2016, in Lansford. Evans is currently an inmate in the county prison.On the DUI count Matika sentenced Evans to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations, render a total of 75 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole. On the possession count he was placed on probation for a year concurrent with the DUI. On the harassment charge he was placed on probation for six months consecutive to the other charges. He must have no contact withthe victim. He was given credit for 32 days spent in jail on the charges and parole.Heather Marie Shane, 42, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested on Jan. 10, 2015, along Plane Street by Weatherly police. A test revealed a 0.30 BAC.Sentencing was deferred as she needs a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.
