Community meal

A free community meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. Thursdayat St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. All are invited to join in food and fellowship.Food pantryThe food pantry for Palmerton area families in need is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. The CACPAC-sponsored pantry is located at St. John's Towamensing Lutheran Church, 2925 Fireline Road, Palmerton.The pantry serves households in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, and the Palmerton School District, including Bowmanstown. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. Call Ed Moyer at 610-504-6680 for information.Zinc City Cycle ClubThe Zinc City Cycle Club, located on Route 209 (1 mile south of Kresgeville) will hold a Fall Foliage Run and bike drawing. The run sign-in will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments, door prizes and grand prize drawing will follow in the Zinc City Grove. See any Zinc City member for tickets. Win a new ride or $5,000. The drawing will be at 5 p.m. There will be a flea market, bike show and biker games. Come and enjoy the day.
