Horst said that a drainage pipe under the lot has broken, and that the pavement is being damaged around the break.Dave Horst, Alfred Benesch & Co., Pottsville, the township's engineer, said he'd checked out the problem and thought the best course of action was to repair the pipe and continue the pipe all the way to a creek. Horst, Houser, roadmaster Chad Felty, solicitor Mike Greek and the supervisors studied a hand-drawn map of the area, provided by Felty. After some discussion, they decided to have Horst again review the area before they make a decision on how to accomplish the repair. Horst first brought the issue to the township's attention in May.Supervisor Leonard Ostergaard was appointed to serve as the township's representative on the Eastern Schuylkill Planning board. Former supervisor Dave Price, who resigned from the township board at the end of January due to health reasons, had been instrumental in working on the plan and had served as the township's representative, with planning commission Chairman Randy Bensinger serving as alternate. Ostergaard was appointed in February to serve the remainder of Price's term.
