State police at Stroudsburg — crashes

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported investigating the following crashes on Monroe County roadways.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 5:10 p.m. on May 21 in Smithfield Township.

Troopers said Andrew Munoz, 29, of Effort, was driving a 2013 Honda Accord too closely behind a 2019 Ford F350 truck operated by Walter D. Cushing, 40, of Pittston, on the entrance ramp to Interstate 80.

Cushing attempted to merge into traffic and had to brake abruptly, resulting in Munoz’s vehicle hitting the rear of the truck.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Munoz for following too closely.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 3:16 p.m. on May 23 along Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

David Wiesiolek, 24, of Tobyhanna, was southbound operating a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze when he lost control and hit the guide rail in the median. Wiesiolek was not injured but the Cruze sustained heavy front-end damage and had to be towed.

Wiesiolek was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
