The fall round of the Carbon County Hotel Tax Grant deadline is fast approaching.

Applications are available on the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development website at

www.carboncountychamber.org by selecting the Chamber tab, then clicking on the Hotel Tax Grant; or by stopping by the CCEDC office at 137 South St., Lehighton.Applications must be submitted to the CCEDC office by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 30.The hotel tax grant is made available through a tax that is collected by local hotels and bed-and-breakfasts in Carbon County.To qualify, an organization must be a nonprofit and must use the funds to create marketing programs that promote tourism in Carbon County.Acceptable projects are billboards, TV, radio or Internet advertising, website design and promotional fliers that promote tourism. Projects such as construction or any other nonmarketing projects do not qualify.
