During a meeting Tuesday, the Tamaqua School Board hired two special education teachers. Kate Pluchinsky, Freemansburg, will receive an annual salary of $44,472 and Kristen Tubbs, Palmerton, will be paid $47,381.

In addition, the board hired Marsha Rodgers as elementary band director, middle school band director and assistant band director. Samantha Yachera will be elementary chorus director. John Buglio will be the chorus director for the middle and high schools.
