On Tuesday evening, the Jim Thorpe Planning Commission Committee discussed current projects, including organizing flow charts for application processes. The flow charts are to aid in the application process for such things as zoning hearings and land usage.

The committee has been working with Borough Manager, Wesley Johnson, on organizing the application process.An updated application has been drafted along with filing deadlines. The list of filing deadlines will help residents know when things are due for the application process.The committee will look at the drafted application and flow chart. Members will discuss it at a later meeting with any questions or comments.Committee Chair, Louis Hall, stated that this flow chart for applications is putting the committee in the right direction of eliminating confusion, especially with deadlines.The committee also continued discussion on noise ordinances in Jim Thorpe.The committee is currently looking into outside construction noise. The committee wants to discuss possible time frames for outside construction, so there isn't construction noise too early in the morning and too late in the evening.Some committee members will ask random residents around town their opinions on how early in the day construction should be allowed to begin and how late in the evening construction should be allowed to be done. The committee will continue discussion at the next meeting.
