A block party today and Sunday at the Sam Miller Field in Jim Thorpe will benefit the Jim Thorpe Athletic Association.

The field is located along North Avenue in the Heights section of the community.Today the event will run from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tomorrow's times are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.The block party opened last evening.There is free admission as well as free live entertainment.The entertainment for Saturday will be Small Town Titans. The entertainment for Sunday will be Bill McGovern.Last night, Coal County Express was featured.There will be food and amusement rides.There will also be the chance for kids to go fishing for trout. The trout are from Warnett's Fish Hatchery.The event is hosted by the Jim Thorpe Community Athletic Association. The JT Community Athletic Association maintains Sam Miller Field
