A Nesquehoning business recently donated $5,000 to the town's fire department.
Ametek Chemical Products Division, located on Route 54, presented a $5,000 check to the Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1.Ametek officials said they appreciate the hard work and dedication of the volunteers of Nesquehoning Fire Company, an outfit that has been in operation for more than 100 years.The donation will help the fire fund repairs to its 2002 KME fire engine. That is the unit that responds if there is a fire call at a manufacturing, or production facility. Previous donations from AMETEK have been used for mechanical and truck body repairs, new LED lighting and loan payments for the purchase of a new aerial truck.The Ametek Foundation has served since 1960 as the principal funding entity for the charitable contributions of Ametek Inc. The Foundation, which supports a wide range of programs and initiatives in communities in which Ametek operates, places a special emphasis on programs that support education, health, welfare, civic and social needs.
