A Palmerton man entered guilty pleas in two pending cases before Judge Joseph J. Matika on July 8.

Steals from motherCody Jon Wescoe, 31, entered pleas to one count each of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification to law enforcement.He was charged with the theft incident for taking his mother's credit card on or about June 11, 2015, and using it to make transactions. State police at Lehighton filed the charges. The drug and false ID counts stem from an April 4 incident in the area of the 300 block ofWest Kline Avenue, filed by Lansford police.On the theft count Matika sentenced him to serve 30 days to one year in jail, with credit for 86 days already served and paroled him. On the two other counts he was placed on probation for a year on each count, concurrent to each other but consecutive to the theft charge.He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations of treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol, make restitution to his mother of $344.50, and render a total of 100 hours of community service.Wescoe will not be released from custody. He has a detainer filed against him by Northampton County authorities on another criminal matter.
