Employees and customers at a Monroe County business were able to subdue a robber who had entered the business brandishing a knife and then fleeing with cash.
State police at Fern Ridge said the armed robbery and capture of the suspect occurred at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday at the Dunkin’ Donuts, located at 3198 Route 115, in Chestnuthill Township.According to troopers Shane Juscavage, 27, of Effort, entered the business and displayed a steak knife demanding money. He then went behind the counter and stole $429 from the drive-thru cash register.After he left the store, Juscavage was tackled by store employees and several customers who witnessed what had occurred. Troopers arrived on scene shortly after and took Juscavage into custody.The same store was robbed at 7:31 p.m. Nov. 14. A further investigation revealed that Juscavage committed that robbery.Juscavage was charged with multiple counts of robbery and related charges. He was arraigned before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville and committed to the county prison in Snydersville after failing to post $250,000 straight cash bail.A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Dec. 18 before Mancuso.
