A Monroe County man, after learning he was going to be incarcerated and as officers attempted to place him in handcuffs, struggled with several officers in a district judge's courtroom, injuring two officers in the process.

The incident occurred Wednesday in the office of District Judge Anthony D. Fluegel of Tobyhanna.According to Pocono Mountain Regional police about 11:30 a.m. officers were at the judge's office to serve a warrant on Wilson Woolley, 20, of Pocono Summit, for an armed robbery that occurred on Dec. 19, 2015, in the area of 1108 Trapper Lane in the Stillwater Estates.A cabdriver who responded to that location was confronted by a suspect who took his wallet and displayed a weapon in the process. Police had obtained a warrant for Woolley's arrest for the robbery and were serving it at the DJ's office.Woolley was at the office on a simple assault charge involving his brother as the victim. He entered a plea to the charge and when the hearing for that matter was over Pocono police served the warrant on him.When Woolley heard that bail was set at $50,000 and he was going to jail he began to struggle with Pocono officers as they attempted to take him into custody.Woolley repeatedly said he was not going to jail and refused to let police handcuff him. Woolley pulled away and actively started to resist the officers while in the courtroom.A state police trooper who was there attempted to assist Pocono officers. The struggle continued with the wall separating the courtroom area collapsing during this. The wall fell onto the legs of officers and another defendant who was in the courtroom for another matter.Woolley continued to struggle with officers and violently kicked the police. Despite numerous commands for him to stop, Woolley continued to struggle until a stun gun was used to finally subdue him and police were able to handcuff him.One of two officers injured was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he was treated and later released. Woolley was treated at the scene by medical personnel for minor injuries before being taken to the county prison in Snydersville. An officer from Pocono Regional Police also assisted in subduing Woolley.Police said charges filed against Woolley in connection with the armed robbery included robbery (felony 1), theft, receiving stolen property, possessing instruments of crime, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and criminal use of a communication facility.Charges filed for the incident in the courtroom included aggravated assault on a police officer (felony two), resisting arrest, simple assault and two counts of persistent disorderly conduct. Woolley's bail on those charges was set at $250,000.
