Summit Hill Heritage Center to host events
The Summit Hill Heritage Center, at 1 W. Hazard St. in Summit Hill, will host a variety of events throughout September and October.
September•Sept. 3: Back to School Flea Market featuring kids clothing, gently used adult clothing, gift items, homemade jelly, jewelry, glassware and more. You may call early for tables at $10 each. The kitchen will open at 8 a.m. Any questions, call Cathy at 570-645-5888 for information and to reserve tables.• Sept. 5: 7 p.m., Summit Hill Heritage Center board of directors meeting at the Heritage Center. The public is welcome.•Sept. 10: 10 a.m., Crafty Fundraiser for the Panther Valley Library at the Heritage Center. The Center's Professional Crafter Andrea Mantz and her team are setting up craft stations where you can make and take a different craft. This is a fundraiser for the Panther Valley Library hosted by the Heritage Center and sponsored by Thrivent's Josh Koch. People of any age can attend and a light lunch will be available. Anyone interested in sponsoring a craft station or needing more information can contact Deb at 570-645-7561 and leave a message.•Sept. 10: Nut and fruit rolls and filling orders for Thanksgiving begin. Forms are available at the Crafty Fundraiser or at the center anytime between Sept. 10 and Oct. 31. Contact Deb with any questions.•Sept. 11: 2 p.m., Hilltop Support Group meeting. Meetings will be every second Sunday except for December to February. The center is accessible via a ramp. The public is welcome.•Oct. 8: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. is the grand reopening of the Heritage Center. Members and the public can come to see the new roof and HVAC system. There will be hot dogs sold for $1 all day. Mini basket auction memberships will be available. All participants who sign up for membership and members who renew will receive a chance on a $50 lottery basket drawn on our Celebration Day. Everyone who signs up between Oct. 8 and Dec. 14will receive a chance on a $100 lottery basket with $100 cash. This will be drawn after the annual singalong. Memberships became available at Pack the Park.• Oct. 9: 2 p.m., Hilltop Support Group, meetings every second Sunday except for December to February.•Oct. 14 and15: 9 a.m.-noon is the annual $2 bag sale. Breakfast sandwiches will be available as well as hot dogs and soups.•Oct. 19: 6 p.m. is Drink and Dabble. There will be art by artist Jay Davenport. Facebook will have the choice of pictures or you may send in suggestions. Pay $40 before the event. There will be food and music. Tickets are $30 at the door, $25 in advance, and ages 12 and under are $10 and you may call for advanced tickets and a group price for six or more.
